Seema Sajdeh reflects on how her separation from Sohail Khan impacted their sons Nirvaan and Yohan: 'I didn't want to split up my family'
Seema Sajdeh recently opened up about the emotional challenges she has faced since her divorce from actor-producer Sohail Khan , describing the complex emotions, guilt, and journey of self-discovery she's experienced. Following her separation, Seema moved with her younger son, Yohan , to Worli, leaving behind their Bandra home, which had been close to Sohail’s residence. The move affected her children and close friends deeply, especially Maheep Kapoor, who expressed her feelings on the change. Her older son, Nirvaan , also shared his struggles with the transition in an episode of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives , highlighting how their parents’ separation impacted Yohan.
In an interview with News 18, Seema discussed the guilt she feels as a mother, explaining, “For any mother, her children come first. My children have always been my priority.” She tried to address this by maintaining open, honest communication with her kids, noting, “Sometimes, what happens on the show whether it’s a vulnerable moment with Nirvaan or Maheep is that you end up absorbing it more fully when you watch it back. Even my son, from last season to this one, digests it differently. Watching our conversations on-screen, where you see every expression, can make the emotions resonate more strongly than during a one-on-one moment.”
Acknowledging the complexities of co-parenting post-divorce, Seema said, “So where the guilt factor is concerned, yes, there is, there’s always guilt for a mom. I didn’t want to split up my family. You don’t get married to get divorced and then you want to see a family, but life happens.”
Today, she is balancing motherhood with her own journey of self-discovery, and she has even rekindled her romance with former fiancé Vikram Ahuja . Reflecting on her journey, Seema concluded, “As a mom, you do have that guilt and navigating through that, as long as, you know, your priorities are in the right place, you know, your kids do understand.”
