Manchester City survived a stoppage time VAR scare against Wolves to claim a 2-1 win, sending them top of the Premier League.
Facing off against Wolves, Pep Guardiola's side went 1-0 down at Molineux when Jorgen Strand Larsen tapped home Nelson Semedo's excellent cross on seven minutes. The defending Premier League champions replied just after the half hour mark through Josko Gvardiol, who scored a sensational strike from outside of the box on his weaker foot to equalise for City.
For much of the second half, City toiled looking for a winner that would send them to the top of the Premier League ahead of Liverpool's clash against Chelsea. And while it looked as though they would come away from Molineux with just a point, Guardiola's side found their winner when John Stones headed home in the dying embers to make it 2-1.
However, whilst City were celebrating their goal, attention was immediately turned to the sidelines, with Gary O'Neil adamant Bernardo Silva had interfered with goalkeeper Jose Sa prior to Stones' winner.
