UPSC ESE 2024 exam is postponed! Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) after changes in railway officers recruitment scheme. As per the official notice, the preliminary exam will now be held on June 8, 2025, and the main exam on August 10, 2025.To provide opportunities to the candidates as per the revised norms, UPSC has reopened the ESE 2025 application window. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for UPSC ESE 2025 exam from October 18 to November 22.“Keeping in view of the decision of the Government for inclusion of IRMS in ESE, 2025, the opening of Correction Window from 09.10.2024 (i.e. from next day of last date for receipt of application (08.10.2024)) was put on hold,” reads the official notice by UPSC.Through ESE, Indian railways recruitment for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Signal & Telecommunication and Stores Sub-cadres will be done."Thereafter, a correction / edit window of 7 days will be provided from 23rd November, 2024 to 29th November 2024 to all the applicants during which they will be able to modify/edit their particulars. The candidates, who have already applied duringthe application window during 18th September, 2024 to 8th October 2024, need not apply again. They may however update their particulars during the new Application Window and correction / edit window, if required," the notification added. The Central government restored the old policy of recruiting the Railway officers via Civil Services Examination (CSE) and the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) conducted by UPSC. Ministry of Railways took a U-turn on its decision to conduct the recruitment via Indian Railway Management Service IRMS exam. Candidates can visit the official website- upsc.gov.in to apply for the Engineering Service Examination 2025.
