YouTube has made a big announcement for Shorts. YouTube has said in its blog that now users will get the facility to create and upload shorts up to 3 minutes i.e. up to 180 seconds. It is starting on October 15, 2024. YouTube has given this information in its blog.

In the blog, YouTube has said that this decision has been taken after the demand of the creators. Now the duration of the Shorts will be 60-180 seconds. Announcing in a blog post, YouTube wrote, that this change will apply to videos whose aspect ratio is square or longer. This will not affect any video uploaded before October 15.

In the coming months, we will work on improving recommendations for longer shorts. YouTube also said that Shorts will get an update in the coming months, making it even easier for users to remix clips from different videos on the platform.
