The Gamecube isn't one of Nintendo's most successful consoles, selling just over 20 million units before being replaced by the much more popular Wii in 2007. Despite the lack of sales, however, the Gamecube was home to some seriously great games.

Indeed, some of Nintendo's most popular franchises made their debut on the Gamecube, including Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin and Metroid Prime.

To celebrate Nintendo's under-appreciated video game console, we've put together a list of the ten best Gamecube games based on their Meteoritic scores.

Remarkably, this means there's no room for f-Zero GX, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

It may also surprise you to find out that The Legend of Zelda doesn't claim the top spot, despite appearing three different times in the list.
