Maharashtra is currently making headlines for troubling reasons, ranging from language-related violence to political disputes. This time, the situation is particularly alarming. Teachers at a school have reportedly adopted an extremely harsh approach towards their female students.In Shahpur, Thane district, a case has been filed against the principal and four teachers of a private school for allegedly undressing female students from grades five to ten for menstrual checks. Authorities have confirmed this information. The incident occurred on Tuesday at the R.S. Damani School, where blood stains were discovered in the restroom.

Following this incident, parents of the affected students expressed their outrage, staging a protest at the school premises on Wednesday and demanding action against the management and teachers involved. According to a complaint filed by a parent, students from grades five to ten were summoned to the school auditorium, where they were shown images of blood stains on the toilet and floor via a projector, and were asked if any of them were experiencing their menstrual cycle.

Afterward, the girls were divided into two groups. Those who admitted to having their period were asked to provide their thumbprints. In contrast, those who claimed they were not menstruating were taken one by one by a female attendant to the restroom for an examination of their private parts.

The police reported that based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the school principal, four teachers, the attendant, and two trustees. Additional Superintendent of Police (Thane Rural) Rahul Jalte stated that the police are thoroughly investigating the incident. He noted that the case has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Senior Inspector Mukesh Dhage from Shahpur police station mentioned that no arrests have been made in connection with this matter yet.
