On Saturday, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the General Secretary of AIADMK, inaugurated a new logo and slogan for the party's 2026 election campaign at their headquarters, 'MGR Maligai' in Chennai. He announced that the statewide initiative titled 'Makkalai Kappom, Tamizhagathai Meetpom' (Let's Protect the People, Let's Liberate Tamil Nadu) will commence on July 7 from Coimbatore, covering eight districts in its first phase.
The newly unveiled campaign logo features the AIADMK flag alongside two leaves, a raised fist symbolizing revolution, and the slogans 'Puratchi Tamizharin Ezhucci Payanam' and 'Tamizhagathai Kappom, Makkalai Meetpom', reinforcing the party's mission to safeguard and uplift the people of Tamil Nadu. Addressing the event, Palaniswami emphasized that following in the footsteps of Perarignar Anna, their leaders MGR and Amma dedicated their lives to the welfare of the people. AIADMK continues this legacy, working for the betterment of society.
Palaniswami sharply criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, stating, "The Chief Minister claims that opposition leaders are merely meeting the public. However, he seems to think they are talking about me, but in reality, they are discussing themselves. I am always with the people." He clarified that while this is a campaign journey, the political objective is much larger. He stated, "Our aim is to remove this corrupt government." He also expressed the need for all like-minded parties to unite to defeat the DMK, urging them to accept their requests, which reflect their views.
