Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious cinematic adaptation of Ramayana has ignited a passionate debate online following the release of Ranbir Kapoor’s first look as Lord Ram. While fans are praising the film’s grand VFX and immersive storytelling calling it “Indian cinema’s peak” others are drawing comparisons with Ram Charan’s portrayal in RRR.

In SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Ram Charan played Alluri Sitarama Raju, who appears in an avatar resembling Lord Ram during a climactic battle scene. This powerful sequence left a lasting impression, prompting fans to argue he is better suited for the mythological role.

Social media is abuzz with comparisons. “Ram Charan as Lord Ram has more grace and physical presence,” wrote one user. Another added, “No hate to Ranbir, but Ram Charan looks more divine.” However, Ranbir Kapoor’s supporters quickly countered, reminding everyone that Ram Charan’s character in RRR was a fictional freedom fighter, not Lord Ram. “Ramayana is about serenity and calm Ranbir embodies that, while Ram Charan portrayed intensity and rage,” argued one fan.
