After the news of toll tax collection on two -wheelers came to light, a people came into the can. The opposition also started making it an issue. Pappu Yadav, MP from Purnia in Bihar, even called for Inquilab. He wrote on X, “It is important against the dishonest BJP government imposing toll tax on bikes”

Nitin Gadkari himself told the truth

When the news of the collection of toll tax on the bike started spreading rapidly, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari himself came forward and called these reports false. He says that these reports are misleading and completely wrong.

Nitin Gadkari posted on his X handle and said, “Some media organizations are spreading misleading news about putting toll tax on two -wheelers. No such decision is proposed. The toll discounts for two -wheelers will continue completely. Checking the truth without creating a sensation is not a sign of healthy journalism. I condemn it.”

At the same time, NHAI has also issued a statement on the X handle regarding these reports. NHAI said, “There have been reports in some parts of the media that the Government of India is planning to impose a user fees on two -wheelers. NHAI wants to clarify that no such proposal is under consideration. There is no plan to impose toll charges on two -wheelers.
