Shanaya Kapoor is finally making her Bollywood debut with Vikrant Massey-starrer Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The newcomer has waited three years to see herself on the big screen.

It has been an emotionally charged time for her. In a recent interview, Shanaya shared that she becomes teary-eyed with her father, Sanjay Kapoor, while watching herself on YouTube.

Shanaya Kapoor, in an interview with Mid-Day, mentioned that she waited three years for her big Bollywood debut. For those who may not know, she was initially set to debut with Karan Johar's production, Bedhadak. However, the film was shelved during the pandemic.
The daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, Shanaya admitted that she gets teary-eyed every day after watching herself on YouTube. She stated, "Every day I log on to YouTube and watch myself on screen. I'm not going to lie; my dad and I get teary-eyed."

After Bedhadak was shelved, Santosh Singh reached out for Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan after her audition tape was presented to him. She explained, "It was a matter of five to six days before we began shooting. But due to COVID and various other reasons, that film didn't come to fruition. After that, I continued giving auditions. I auditioned for another project, and the casting director sent the tape to Santosh Singh. Looking back, I understand why things didn't happen then and why they are happening now. I feel much better prepared as an actor."
Shanaya Kapoor now values the opportunity more, as it came after a long wait. She recognizes that she will need to work hard despite being a star kid. Ultimately, the audience is the king, and their acceptance is crucial. She expressed, "I value this chance a lot more because I got it after delays. I've experienced my ups and downs before reaching this point. That said, I'm aware that it's much easier for me compared to others."
Regarding Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, the film is based on Ruskin Bond's book, The Eyes Have It. It is set to release on July 11, 2025.
