The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has strongly urged schools in Seawoods to formally register their objection to the state government’s recent policy mandating the teaching of Hindi as a third language from Grade 1.

A delegation visited Podar International School, DAV Public School, S.S. High School, and Don Bosco School, where they met with principals and handed over a letter from MNS Chief Raj Thackeray. The letter clearly opposes the government’s directive and appeals to school authorities to officially communicate their dissent to the education department.

During interactions with the principals, MNS representatives highlighted concerns that introducing three languages from the first standard places unnecessary academic stress on young students and may hinder their cognitive development. They also pointed out that such a practice is uncommon in other Indian states and developed countries, where only one or two languages are taught at the primary level.

While some principals admitted they were uncomfortable with the policy, they also expressed fear of possible consequences if they openly defied the government order.
