Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The Texas Super Kings (TSK) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in a nail-biting Major League Cricket encounter, successfully defending their total of 159 to beat the Seattle Orcas by 10 runs. The match turned on a spectacular late-innings batting recovery followed by a single, game-changing over with the ball.
After being put in to bat, TSK’s innings was in tatters at 59 for 4. It took a crucial rescue mission from Mitchell Santner (40 off 26) and Daniel Sams to rebuild. The pair added a vital 57 runs, but it was Sams’ explosive finish that truly shifted the momentum. He bludgeoned 26 runs off the final over, bowled by Dwaine Pretorius, to catapult his team to a competitive 159 for 7.
In reply, the Seattle Orcas looked well on their way, with Nauman Anwar providing a brisk start. The chase hinged on the formidable Heinrich Klaasen, who appeared set to guide his team home.
However, the entire match swung in the 14th over. TSK bowler Cameron Gannon delivered the decisive blow, inducing a top-edge from Klaasen that was safely caught. The dismissal of the dangerous South African ripped the heart out of the Orcas’ run chase.
Following Klaasen’s departure, the disciplined TSK bowling attack, led by an exceptional spell from spinner Harmeet Singh, tightened the screws. They squeezed the remaining batters, and the Orcas’ chase crumbled under pressure, ultimately falling short of the target. It was a classic T20 thriller defined by clutch performances under pressure.
