The decision comes after a red alert was issued by the IMD for heavy to very heavy rainfall along the Karnataka coast.

IMD has also issued a red alert in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. Parents and students are confused as there is still no official announcement on whether schools will reopen on Tuesday (June 17) in rain-hit districts.
