Missing Trekker in Dharamshala

Dharamshala: Authorities in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district have initiated a significant search operation for an Israeli tourist who has gone missing while trekking in the Triund area. The individual, identified as Samuel Vengrinovich, is thought to be in his mid-thirties and was trekking with a group that set off on June 6.

As per police reports, Samuel became separated from his companions during the trek and failed to return by nightfall. His friend Ediblam alerted the McLeodganj police after attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.

Kangra's Superintendent of Police, Shalini Agnihotri, confirmed that rescue teams comprising police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) have been mobilized. Search efforts are currently focused on Triund, Indrahar Pass, Jot, and nearby remote regions.

The Israeli Embassy in New Delhi has been informed about the situation, and local authorities are actively coordinating and overseeing the ongoing search efforts.
