star Dominic Chinea has has announced that he will be making a move away from the show, saying that he is soon to embark on a "secret" new television venture.
For years, fans of the popular series have seen Dominic work wonders on various antiques, showcasing his masterful metalwork prowess in restoring cherished items.
But now, after gracing the show since 2017, he's given his YouTube followers a hint about his upcoming steps away from the BBC show.
Dominic told fans that he's got his hands on a vintage Land Rover Defender and divulged how it will feature prominently in a new series: "But, some of you may have seen in last week's video that I've gone and got myself a new (Land Rover) Defender.
"It is a TD5 2000, I think 2001, long 110 long bed pickup. It's in the workshop on axle stands with the bonnet open because it's broken. I was not expecting it to be a project."
But, it isn't just for his own entertainement, as he said: "The reason for getting that- which is secret information, so keep it between yourselves - is that I'm working on a new TV show. I'm really excited about it.
"It's an awesome project and we're just getting started on it, and it's so exciting already. It's going really well. I can't wait to be able to share more with you- and we're going to be driving around in a Defender, if I can get it fixed."
Dominic exuded enthusiasm for his new venture as he shared: "It's really exciting, I think you're going to love it. So far it has gone really well."
With a touch of concern for potentially revealing too much, Dominic offered an "apology": "And that is probably going to get me into trouble. So apologies to anyone watching who is now probably texting me to say, 'You're not allowed to say any of that.'"
Separately from teasing the unnamed TV show, Dominic is poised to collaborate with his Repair Shop colleague Will Kirk and aid masons in the restoration of York Minster.
Fans of The Repair Shop can look forward to its return tonight at 8 pm on BBC One.
