has announced the launch of a new on-demand delivery service designed to help people and small businesses tackle everyday errands and deliveries. Uber forgotten keys across town, deliver last-minute birthday gifts, and get orders in people's hands. It will be live in 9 UK cities this summer, with London scheduled to launch in late 2025.
It's currently available in the Uber app in Sheffield, Edinburgh, Stoke, Glasgow, Leicester, Oxford, Belfast, Northampton, and Hull. There are plans roll out the product in the coming weeks, in Brighton, Sussex, Cambridge and East Anglia, Cardiff, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Merseyside, Nottingham and Bristol.
As well as completing personal tasks, Courier also allows small businesses , such as dry cleaners or independent boutiques.
Andrew Brem, general manager at Uber UK, said: "Courier is designed for those moments when something just needs to get done, but you can't get to it yourself.
"By offering an easy, reliable way to send and receive items, Courier helps people and small businesses reclaim valuable time for what matters most."
Enter pickup and drop-off locations - whether it's a home, office, shop, or friend's address.
Describe the item (e.g. "keys in an envelope" or "box of cupcakes").
Confirm delivery instructions and ensure the item is securely packaged (under 15 lbs and £200 in value).
Track your delivery in real time and share trip details with the recipient for added visibility.
Verify delivery with a PIN code for extra peace of mind.
