The Miss World Organisation has issued a formal statement addressing recent media reports surrounding Miss England 2025, Milla Maggie, and her unexpected withdrawal from the 72nd Miss World Festival currently underway in India. According to Julia Morley CBE, Chairwoman and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, Milla Maggie withdrew from the competition earlier this month citing a family emergency related to her mother’s health. Morley, responding with empathy as both a mother and grandmother, reportedly facilitated Milla’s return to the UK, placing her family’s needs above all else.

In Milla’s absence, Charlotte Grant — the first runner-up at Miss England — has taken over as the official representative of England. Grant arrived in India on Wednesday and has since joined the global contestants with enthusiasm and support from fellow participants.

However, controversy reportedly erupted after sections of the British press reported allegedly critical remarks made by Milla about her experience in India.

Miss World Org Refutes Miss England 2025 Milla's Claims

The Miss World Organisation has strongly refuted these claims, calling them “completely unfounded” and “defamatory.”

“These statements are inconsistent with the reality of Milla's experience,” said Julia Morley. “To clarify the truth, we are releasing unedited footage from her time in India, where Milla is seen expressing gratitude, joy, and appreciation for the hospitality and the Miss World experience.”

The organisation also hinted at ulterior motives behind the misleading reports, with internal sources suggesting that Milla had not participated in any of the core Miss World private events, nor had she walked the ramp. She reportedly fainted at one gathering and felt unwell, after which she independently chose to return to the UK — well before the key segments of the competition began.

The Miss World Organisation has reaffirmed its commitment to the values of Beauty With a Purpose and called upon media houses to practice responsible journalism by verifying facts before publication.

Charlotte Grant, now officially representing England, continues to engage with fellow contestants and organiser.
