Merit list released, record-breaking applications!

Mumbai University released its first merit list on 27 May 2025 on its official portal mu.ac.in. This year the admission process has seen a tremendous response. 2,53,370 students registered on the online admission portal which started on 8 May 2025 and a total of 8,11,643 applications were submitted, that is, the competition to get a seat in top colleges is very high this time, especially for commerce and arts courses in popular colleges like St. Xavier's College, Jai Hind College, HR College, and KC College.

How to check the merit list?

It is very easy to check your name on the merit list. Just follow these steps-

Visit the website: Visit the official website of Mumbai University mu.ac.in.

Find the admission section: Look for the banner of Admissions 2025–26 or First Year Degree College Merit List on the homepage.

Choose your college: Select the name of the college you have applied to.

View the merit list: Click on the link to the First Merit List (2025). This list will be in PDF format.

Search Name: Use Ctrl + F to quickly find your name or application number.

Note important dates: Check the list along with the dates of document verification, fee payment, and admission. If you need some more details, check your college website as well.

The name appeared in the merit list, what to do now?

If your name is on the first merit list, then now you have to complete the process of document verification and fee payment. This process will run from 28 May to 3 June 2025. Failure to do this work on time may result in the cancellation of your seat.

10th and 12th mark sheets

Transfer certificate (TC)

If you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), then it is a certificate.

Any other documents that the college asks for

Pre-admission online enrollment form (this must be pre-filled).

Keep all your documents ready in advance, so that there is no problem at the time of verification.

What if the name does not appear in the first list?

If the name is not on the first list, then there is no need to panic. Mumbai University will release the second merit list on 4 June 2025 and the third merit list on 10 June 2025. Keep an eye on these dates and keep checking your college website.
