Nowadays, whenever we have to go somewhere, we first take the help of Google Maps. Whether it is to find the way, to see the traffic, or to find the nearest hotel, Google Maps helps everywhere. But have you ever wondered what the different colors seen on the map mean?

A lot of information is given through colors in Google Maps. If you understand these colors, then it becomes even easier to decide on the way.

Lines seen on the roads in Google Maps

Green color: Shows an open and clear path. When you see a road in green color, it means that there is no traffic there. You can pass through that road easily and without any obstruction.

Yellow or Orange color: These colors mean that there is light traffic on the way. If the road is seen in yellow or orange, then there is light traffic there. Meaning, the vehicles are moving a little slowly, but not intermittently.

Red color: The red color line shows heavy traffic. This means that there is a lot of crowd on that route. Vehicles are moving very slowly, or there may be a traffic jam. If the red color is getting darker, then understand that the jam is increasing even more.

Blue color: When you are searching for a route to a location, the blue line that is formed shows you the route. Blue color means that this is your chosen route.

Brown color: This color shows mountains or high areas. If brown color is visible at any place, then understand that the area is hilly or high. This information is used for hiking or trekking.

Purple color: Sometimes, when you choose a route, Google shows you another option in purple. These routes may be a little longer or full of traffic.

These colored lines know everything about the routes.

These different colors seen in Google Maps help you understand the route, estimate the traffic, and choose the right route. If you know the meaning of these colors, then traveling will become even easier.

Now, the next time you open Google Maps, look at these colors carefully. They tell a lot about your journey.
