A car was seen ploughing into multiple people outside Espanyol's stadium ahead of their La Liga match against Barcelona on Thursday night. A video capturing the chilling incident was circulated on social media during the game.

Bystanders outside the stadium were seen fleeing as police officers rushed towards the vehicle. Marca reports that the incident briefly halted the game, although it is believed play resumed quickly as no serious injuries were reported.

ITV commentator Sam Matterface reportedly confirmed that no spectators were seriously injured in the incident.

Mundo Deportivo separately reported that the incident took place just before the start of the match, prompting several ambulances to rush to the scene.

Referee Cesar Soto Grado was observed conversing with police and officials near the pitch during the brief interruption in play, which followed a tannoy announcement.

Hansi Flick's team will secure the championship title with a win, following Real Madrid's last-minute comeback 24 hours earlier that denied them the Spanish title.
