sent a sensational gift to the individual who made the ball marker which he won the with. The Northern Irishman finally managed to land the spoils at Augusta National last month to complete a remarkable career grand slam.
McIlroy survived a scare to get his hands on the elusive green jacket by beating Justin Rose in a sudden-death play-off, who had made a late charge for the title but could only manage a par on the crucial additional hole.
Since his success, McIlroy has been in incredibly high demand, and reports have already emerged claiming that Golf Australia are pushing for him to tee off at the Australian Open later this year - though those negotiations are said to be at the early stages.
But despite the hectic PGA Tour schedule and the fresh wave of popularity, the 36-year-old - who is gearing up for the PGA Championship following the Truist Championship - has still found time to ensure that he has thanked everyone who was involved in his success at Augusta - including those who others might forget to.
American-based company Golf Life Metals shared a picture on X, formerly known as Twitter, showcasing the gift he received from McIlroy as a thanks for creating a custom ball marker for the competition - and other events in years gone by.
The individual (Jon) was sent a flag from the Masters which McIlroy signed: "Jon, thanks for all the ball markers over the years!" as well as a small replica of all the trophies which made up his career grand slam in a glass box.
Posting a picture of his gift, @golflifemetals wrote: "I have won some trophies myself, but this takes the cake... My golf life is blessed, thank you very much Rory McIlroy." In previous tweets, the company had also showcased the marker which the eventual Masters winner used at the competition.
The marker had a simplified version of the Manchester United crest engraved on one side with McIlroy's initials printed in the centre, with a more heartfelt message on the flipside. The legendary golfer opted for some words of encouragement from his daughter Poppy which may have spurred him on in difficult moments at Augusta. The quote read: "'You already know how to play golf' - Poppy," along with a red love heart.
