If you are planning to travel by train in the next few days, here's a critical update you must read before packing your bags. The Indian Railways has cancelled and short-terminated several trains in response to rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border. With the situation still tense despite a ceasefire, precautionary operational changes have been put in place.
Millions of passengers travel by train every day in India due to its comfort and affordability. However, operational issues or security concerns can sometimes cause disruptions. Given the current geopolitical climate, especially the sensitive situation near the border, the railways has taken steps to modify, reschedule, cancel, or short-terminate multiple trains.
According to official railway sources, train services running through the Ambala railway division are particularly impacted.

Train No. 12904 – Amritsar to Mumbai Central Golden Temple Mail: Will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin instead on May 11, 12, 13, and 15, 2025
Train No. 12903 – Mumbai Central to Amritsar Golden Temple Mail: Will terminate at Hazrat Nizamuddin on May 11 and 12, 2025
Train No. 15212 – Amritsar to Dibrugarh Express: Will run from Saharanpur Junction on May 11, 12, 13, and 14, 2025
