' North-West correspondent Sophie Reaper stood in for Anne Diamond on this morning's episode of Breakfast With Stephen and Anne. She was just covering her for one episode - but she referred to the show as "Breakfast with Sophie and Stephen", leading to someone emailing in to correct her.

She then told co-star Stephen Dixon "and the nation" that she was sorry, before joking: "They probably won't have me back after this!" The blushing TV host exclaimed: "I'd like to officially apologise - in the last hour I accidentally had a slip of the tongue." As Stephen laughed heartily, she continued: "I'm under no illusions, it's not my show - I'm filling in for the fabulous Anne Diamond!"

"Stephen's of course a seasoned professional and should be first - I can only give my profuse apologies to Stephen, GB News and the nation, of course. I apologise!" she reiterated, as Stephen crumpled into gentle fits of laughter.

"I think we had one person messaging in," he told her, after pretending to be "outraged", as she swiftly replied: "Well, one was enough!

"As soon as I said it, I knew I'd made a fatal error."

Sophie has been GB News' North West Correspondent for almost three years, although the Manchester-based presenter doesn't usually occupy the hosting seat on the Sunday show.

The apology was a light-hearted moment, with Stephen telling his temporary Sunday co-star to "give over".

In other news on the channel this morning, over his claim that he was scared for his safety in the UK, after footage emerged of him wandering London streets on his own and knocking on doors to find his friend's house.

"For me, Harry's making a deliberate decision to keep his children away from the King - and that is a big crying shame," he exclaimed.
