Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan started his career in gaming as he co-founded Tara Gaming with his business partners. Amitabh Bachchan has teamed up with bestselling author Amish Tripathi and Ubisoft veteran Nouredine Abboud for developing a new dimension in storytelling for Indian video games. The studio launched on May 1 by unveiling its major initial title, which became The Age of Bhaarat — a AAA action-adventure game for PCs and consoles.

Cinematic visuals and mythological themes will be the notable highlights when the game brings to life ancient India. During its launch trailer, viewers witnessed enormous terrain while encountering both legendary creatures and battle scenes. According to Bachchan, his participation grew from his commitment to storytelling because the shared vision between Tripathi and Abboud immediately attracted him.

Mythology meets modern gameplay

The upcoming Age of Bhaarat game uses Indian mythology and historical elements. The game developers want to deliver both a complex story progression and superior gaming performance. The trailer showcases a fraction of what Abboud and his team plan to deliver according to their work on Ghost Recon Wildlands. The developers created the game to appeal to worldwide audiences while staying loyal to traditional Indian heritage.

Tripathi describes the game as his “passion project” because of his reputation for transforming ancient Indian epics into modern language. According to him, the participation of Bachchan enhances the project with both historical significance and motivational impact. The studio intends to bring together film narrative techniques with active game mechanics to establish an original gaming experience for both Indian and worldwide audiences.

A rising market for Indian AAA games

The Indian gaming market experiences a significant expansion during which Tara Gaming makes its entry. Research by Niko Partners indicates that India leads Asia as the market shows the fastest gaming expansion. The PC and console sector will grow from $1 billion to $1.4 billion during the forecast period between 2025 and 2028. Tara Gaming aims to satisfy an increasing market need for original Indian gaming stories.

The Age of Bhaarat game launch represents a fundamental transformation in how India participates within the global gaming sector. The combined expertise of Bachchan, along with Tripathi and Abboud, gives Tara Gaming the necessary capabilities to establish itself strongly in high-end gaming.
