The Madrid Open final takes place today and there is a chance for the players to bank a huge sum of cash. After yesterday's WTA final, the ATP showdown will bring the curtain down on a fantastic week of action.

Express Sport provides all the details on the Madrid Open final, including the prize money that Jack Draper and Casper Ruud will compete for.

Madrid Open final prize money

The prize money for the Madrid Open was increased for this year. As has been the case for several years, both the ATP and the WTA players earn the same figure. The WTA final took place yesterday.

Twelve months ago, Andrey Rublev and Iga Swiatek took home £819,059 each. This year, the winners of the two singles finals will receive £837,551. The near-£20k increase is an enticing prize for the respective champions.

Given the prestigious nature of the tournament, there are also 1000 ranking points up for grabs for the winner. Those could be important ahead of a big summer on both tours.

Runners-up will not go home empty-handed, though. They will receive £445.5k and 650 ranking points. Those who were beaten in the semi-finals will go home with £247.4k. Quarter-finalists leave Madrid with a little under £141k.

Fourth-round losers are awarded £76.9k, while players who suffered defeat in the third round are handed £45k. Those knocked out in the second round, including Britain's Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter, go home with £26.3k. Players who exit in the first round are treated to £17.7k for their efforts.
