Mumbai: Actor Ajaz Khan is facing intense criticism after a viral clip from his reality show House Arrest—streaming on Ullu and YouTube—sparked outrage for allegedly promoting obscene and inappropriate content. The footage shows Khan making vulgar remarks and pressuring contestants into performing objectionable acts on camera.

The Maharashtra State Commission for Women, led by Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, has responded by writing to the state’s Director General of Police, urging an immediate ban on the show. The Commission has also sought strict legal action under multiple laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, IT Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

One highly controversial scene involved Khan allegedly asking a female participant to demonstrate sexual positions. Despite her visible discomfort, he reportedly persisted and later instructed contestant Gehana Vashisth to act out a sexual scene with two other participants. These scenes have drawn widespread condemnation on social media, with users accusing the show of degrading women and encouraging vulgarity under the guise of entertainment.

Taking suo moto cognizance, the Women’s Commission has called for swift enforcement measures against Khan and the show’s producers. The incident has reignited debate around OTT content regulation and the growing need for tighter scrutiny of digital platforms.
