Rohit Sharma: Mumbai Indians' charge into the IPL 2025 playoffs gathered momentum as Rohit Sharma played a fantastic knock, leading his team to a resounding seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 41 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Chasing 144, Mumbai overhauled the target with ease, finishing at 146/3 in just 15.4 overs - with Rohit's sublime 70 off 46 balls standing out as the defining performance.

Walking out after the early dismissal of Ryan Rickelton, Rohit immediately took command. He drove fluently through the covers, pulled with confidence, and found the boundary with effortless timing. His innings was a throwback to the vintage Rohit - composed under pressure yet ruthless in execution. The MI skipper struck eight boundaries and cleared the ropes three times, making light work of a modest chase.

Rohit found support from Will Jacks, who chipped in with 22 before falling to Zeeshan Ansari. But it was Suryakumar Yadav who ensured a clinical finish, blasting an unbeaten 40 off 19 deliveries to wrap up the game with more than four overs to spare.

Earlier in the evening, it was Trent Boult who set the tone with a sensational new-ball spell. The left-arm seamer scythed through Hyderabad's top order, finishing with 4/26. Boult removed Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma early, and later added Abhinav Manohar and Pat Cummins to his tally. His efforts, alongside Deepak Chahar's disciplined two-wicket burst, reduced SRH to 35/5.

While Heinrich Klaasen fought a lone battle with a counterattacking 71 off 44 balls, including nine boundaries and two sixes, his efforts weren't enough to lift Hyderabad beyond 143/8 - a total that never looked sufficient against a Rohit-inspired MI.

With this emphatic win, Mumbai Indians moved up to third in the points table, sending a strong message to the rest of the league as the 'Hitman' is back in form with consecutive fifties.
