Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office to the newly- appointed state chief information commissioner Rahul Pande and  three state information commissioners - Ravindra Thakre, Prakash Indalkar and Gajanan Nimdev  on Monday at a brief ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.

The state has been without a chief information commissioner since April, 2023. Pande is a former journalist from Nagpur.  He was the information commissioner  from October, 2021 to October 2023.

Monday's ceremony was witnessed by  chief minister Devendra Fadnavis,   chief secretary Sujata Saunik, principal secretary to  CM Brijesh Singh, senior journalists, and dignitaries from different walks of life. .
