If we look at history, then it is known that the Nahargarh Fort was built by Jai Singh II in 1734. Earlier its name was “Sudarshangarh”, but later it came to be called 'Nahargarh'. It is believed that the construction of this fort was repeatedly obstructed and then on the advice of a tantric, the king built a temple to calm the soul of a monk 'Nahar Singh Bhomiya'. It is said that since then this fort was called 'Nahargarh' – in the name of Nahar Singh's soul.
