Brits are poised for a mini-heatwave with sizzling temperatures, but it's not all sunshine and sundresses-many areas might get left out in the cold. While much of the UK gears up for sun-soaked festivities around May Day Bank Holiday, several regions will be conspicuously absent from the warm weather revelry.

East Anglia is bracing for scorching temperatures as the mercury is expected to reach its zenith there, with lucky residents in the south east also set to enjoy the heat. However, these balmy mid-twenty-degree conditions during the 72-hour hot spell won't be spread uniformly across the land.

Counties including Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, along with North, West, East and South Yorkshire, are all forecast to miss out on the heatwave. The list continues with Durham, Westmorland, Cumberland, Lancashire, Northumberland, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and even the Isle of Wight side-stepping the swelter.

Forecast models from Netweather signal highs of 22C could grace the South East, whilst most of England could bask in temperatures reaching the high teens.

Looking at Easter weekend, the North and North West could claim the best of the bright spells on Easter Sunday. As for the South, rain showers threaten to dampen spirits, reports .

By Easter Monday, these could become more frequent and fall heavily across England and Wales, potentially bringing thunder to some parts, says Netweather TV.

James Madden from Exacta Weather forecasts: "A largely sunny Easter weekend with some showers or heavy showers in places, particularly in some southern (southwest) and western areas and Ireland on Good Friday and into the early part of the Bank Holiday weekend..

"The main third-party computer models appear to have backed away from any wintry precipitation or snow potential during late April."

Mr Madden continued: "However, this is something that could still change back to those earlier projections from the current projections over the next 24-96 hours."

He also mentioned in his forecast: "Watch this space for now and further details will follow on this in the coming days and later in the weekend."

He further commented: "The track of some further low-pressure areas with further heavy rain and unsettled conditions will more than likely continue to barrage across or NEAR our shores and influence our weather for several days after the midweek one has passed through, particularly more so in some parts to the SOUTH and WEST of the country."
