has ordered the cancellation of all Mail and Express trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 am and 2 pm on October 10, citing the possibility of severe road traffic congestion around the two stations, as per a report by Times of India.
Citing a railway order issued on October 9, TOI said that all Mail and Express trains departing from their originating stations after 2 pm on Friday and scheduled to reach New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4 am and 2 pm on Saturday will be cancelled at source.
The order, issued by the railway department's coaching directorate, said the decision was taken in view of anticipated severe traffic congestion in the areas surrounding the two stations.
The move comes amid protests against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), though railway officials have not confirmed whether the cancellations are linked to the demonstrations.
