Under Annapurna Yojana, monthly financial assistance of Rs 3,000 has already reached the bank accounts of many women. But still the applications of many applicants are in ‘Under Inquiry’ or ‘Application Rejected’ status. That is why the administration has started a special verification campaign. It is being ensured that only genuine and eligible consumers get the benefits of this government project by verifying the information of the applicants by visiting their homes and over the phone.

Why is Annapurna Yojana verification being done?

Government claims, many applications are stuck due to technical glitches, incomplete documents or KYC issues. Therefore, an initiative has been taken to identify eligible applicants through re-verification and send Rs 3,000 per month to their bank accounts through DBT. This work is being done by Anganwadi workers and government officials under the supervision of Delhi administration.

According to the administration, after re-verification of the information, the status of the application may change in many cases. Many applications submitted offline are still in the uploading stage on the government portal. Therefore, it is advised to wait for some time even after applying if the money is not received.

Door-to-door and phone verification has started across the state for Annapurna Yojana applicants. The actual information is being matched with the information contained in the application form. Questions are being raised about name, Aadhaar, bank, family income, government job, pension, even the car at home or how many houses are there.
