New Delhi. On the remarks made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding offering Namaz on the streets, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said that no person or leader should create tension and everyone has to follow the law to ensure social harmony.


Kiren Rijiju told reporters after a conference of state minority commissions convened by the National Minority Commission that communal harmony should not be disturbed by political rhetoric. He emphasized on peaceful co-existence.


He said, “I say that whoever it is, be it politicians or social workers, we should not create tension. Every Indian has to live in harmony with each other.” “We all have to live together. But everyone has to follow the law,” the minister said.


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while warning against offering Namaz on the streets, had on Monday said that religion- activities should be carried out in different shifts at religious places. Adityanath had said that his government would not allow Namaz or any other religious activity by blocking roads.
