The maximum temperature was recorded at 46.5 degrees Celsius in the Ridge area of ​​Delhi. The temperature in Aya Nagar was 45.5 degrees Celsius. The temperature at Lodhi Road was recorded at 45.2 degrees Celsius, while Safdarjung recorded 45.1 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Palam also recorded a temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius.


According to IMD (Indian Meteorological Department), people will have to face heat wave in the coming days also, with the temperature expected to rise further. The intensity of the increasing heat can be gauged from the fact that temperatures across the capital have been recorded up to 3 degrees Celsius above the normal level. Heat wave and hot winds are proving to be a serious challenge for people working outside in open spaces.


**Mercury crosses 46 degrees**


IMD has released the latest temperature data for different parts of Delhi; The mercury has crossed 46 degrees – which is 4 degrees Celsius above normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 46.5 degrees Celsius in Delhi’s Ridge area, 45.5 degrees Celsius in Aya Nagar, 45.2 degrees Celsius at Lodhi Road and 45.1 degrees Celsius in Safdarjung. Palam also recorded a temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius.


**IMD issued warning**


According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature recorded this morning – Tuesday, May 19 – was 28.2 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, a ‘yellow’ warning was issued for the national capital yesterday, warning of the possibility of heat wave conditions in some areas. IMD had predicted that Delhi’s maximum temperature today will be around 44 degrees Celsius; However, by afternoon the temperature was recorded at 46 degrees Celsius.


According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of this scorching heat will continue to be felt in entire North India including Delhi in the coming days. The temperature in Banda, Hamirpur and Kanpur districts of Uttar Pradesh has reached close to 45 degrees Celsius.
