Ahmedabad. The torrential rains in Gujarat for the last few days have completely disturbed the normal life. Continuous rains have created flood -like conditions in many parts of the state. So far, 18 people have died in rain - incidents, while hundreds of people have been affected.
Red Alert Warning
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in many districts in view of the seriousness of the rain. This means that most parts of the state are expected to have extreme heavy rainfall in the next few days. The administration has been instructed to be fully vigilant.
Orange alert in these districts
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for some districts, which means that there may be heavy rains and it may adversely affect life. These districts include: Mehsana, Aravali, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Navsari, Valsad, Rajkot, Jamnagar. The administration has given instructions to take special vigilance in these areas and appealed people not to get out unnecessarily.
Administration appeal and guidelines
The administration has urged the people of the state to stay in safe places and follow the following precautions: stay indoors, especially during rain and strong winds. Do not park vehicles under trees or near glass windows. Keep distance from electrical appliances and stop the power supply when needed. Avoid moving to flood -affected areas and follow the instructions issued by the administration.
