The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has recently made it clear that no serious security problems have been found in these aircraft after monitoring Air India’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. All procedures to aircraft maintenance were found in accordance with the existing standards.


Meeting with Air India and Express officials


DGCA held a high -level meeting with senior officials of Air India Limited and Air India Express. The meeting was called after a disturbance in flight AI 171 from Ahmedabad to London on 12 June. The two companies jointly conduct more than 1000 domestic and international flights per day. The purpose of the meeting was to review the strength of the operational system and ensure adherence to safety measures.


Discussion on seven important issues


During the meeting, DGCA churned on seven major topics with airline management, including delay in maintenance, flight coordination and aircraft restrictions. In particular, the performance of the wide-body fleet and the operation status of the Boeing 787 aircraft were evaluated in detail.


Instructions for improvement to Air India


DGCA officials met Air India’s CEO Campbell Wilson and had a strategic discussion with the airline’s top management. During this time, the airline was instructed to pay special attention to aircraft safety improvement, time -bound flight operations and maintenance. Emphasis was also laid on reducing the inconvenience of passengers and adopting better communication system in case of delay.


Emphasis on the rights of passengers


DGCA has given clear instructions to Air India that in case of delay in flights, the passengers should be provided correct information and necessary services on time. The regulator also said that the facilities of the passengers are paramount under the Civil Aviation Rules.


Seven flights canceled due to technical reasons


On the other hand, Air India on Tuesday canceled seven international flights citing technical disturbances and unavailability of aircraft. Six of these flights were to be operated from Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner-the same model which was involved in the June 12 incident. Dubai, Vienna, Paris from Delhi to canceled flights; Ahmedabad to London; London to Amritsar; Flights from Bengaluru to London and Mumbai to San Francisco are included.


Fleet investigation increased


After the June 12 accident, in which more than 270 people were aboard, Air India has made the security check strict by paying special attention to its Boeing 787 aircraft. It is believed that flights have been affected due to these reasons.
